Glinda C. Anderson, one of the four visionary founders and incorporators of Widows and Orphans of God, Inc. in 1997, made a lasting impact on our organization. She served with distinction as Vice President for many years before assuming the role of Executive Director. Glinda's dedicated leadership continued until her passing on February 28, 2018.
In honor of Glinda's profound contributions, the Board of Directors established the Glinda C. Anderson Scholarship Fund on the day of her passing. This scholarship program is designed to support college students who maintain a minimum C+ GPA throughout their college journey.
The Glinda C. Anderson Scholarship Fund extends its assistance beyond academics. It provides college students with essential household and electronic items suitable for dormitory or apartment living. Additionally, recipients receive a monthly $75.00 cash or retail store card for miscellaneous and personal expenses.
This scholarship is available to students whose parents earn a combined income of less than $40,000.00 per year or to students between the ages of 17 and 26 who are self-sufficient and earn less than $25,000 a year.
The success of the Glinda C. Anderson Scholarship Fund relies on the generosity of individuals and organizations alike. We are funded through free-will public donations, grants, and contributions from small businesses.
